Maury W. Bradsher
Managing Partner
Maury is the Managing Partner of Seneca Communities, the real estate investment division of the holding company, District Equity (“DE”). In addition to real estate, DE consist of a series of engineering and consulting firms serving the defense, healthcare, and cybersecurity industries. At Seneca Communities, Maury oversees the firm’s holdings, and is responsible for capital raising, investment committee support, partnerships and the acquisition strategy of the investments managed by Seneca. Formally recognized by Private Equity International, PE Hub and Acquisition International, among others, for excellence in alternative investments, he periodically speaks at national conferences on M&A and Affordable Housing Development topics.
Maury received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics & Finance from North Carolina Agricultural & Technical State University, as well as an MBA from the Stern School of Business at New York University.
George H. Casey III
Principal
George has more than 15 years of commercial real estate experience. Before joining Seneca Communities, George was an attorney in Morrison Foerster LLP’s Real Estate Group where his practice covered a wide range of debt and equity transactions, including development, leasing, financing, and disposition of retail, commercial, industrial and residential projects. Prior to his experience with Morrison Foerster LLP, George was an attorney in Hoge Fenton’s Real Estate Group where his practice involved commercial acquisitions and dispositions.
At Seneca Communities, George focuses on legal and fund operations. As Managing Partner of a private equity fund formed in response to the Great Recession, George successfully implemented a value-add investment strategy focused on multifamily properties throughout the Silicon Valley.
George is a Planning Commissioner for the City of San Jose, California, an active Member of the Urban Land Institute, a Member of the Berkeley Real Estate Alumni Association, and a licensed California Real Estate Broker.
George received his J.D. from Santa Clara University School of Law, a Master in Urban and Regional Planning from San Jose State University, and a Bachelor of Science in Political Science from Santa Clara University. George is a UC Berkeley, Master of Real Estate Development and Design Candidate (’21).

Deborah Lee
Principal
Deborah has more than 20 years of real estate experience. Before joining Seneca Communities, Deborah founded Daedal (HK) Limited, which provides strategic capital advisory services to alternative asset managers and private companies.
At Seneca, Deborah focuses on the three pillars required for successful capital raising: brand and message development/delivery, strategic capital raising roadmap across global investor segments (coupled with the required business planning to support growth), and execution of that strategy with attention to process. Deborah was the Asia Head of Capital Services for Credit Suisse, where she and her team were instrumental in the bank’s efforts to connect its Asian hedge fund client base with global investors and to help non-Asian funds raise capital from local investors. She was awarded Best APAC capital introduction specialist by Asia Investor in 2012.
Deborah earned a BA, magna cum laude, in political science, with honors, from University of California, Berkeley, and an MIA from the School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA) at Columbia University, where she completed dual concentrations in International Finance and East Asia.
Sterling Jawitz
Principal
Sterling has more than a decade of commercial real estate experience. Before joining Seneca Communities, Sterling served as the CEO of VisionaRE Partners, LLC an owner and developer of multifamily, mixed-use, and commercial real estate. Prior to starting VisionaRE Partners, Sterling was the first employee at Common Living Inc. and spent his time there running the real estate side of the business.
At Seneca, Sterling is responsible for sourcing real estate deals, creating partnerships with developers, capital sources, and debt providers, speaking publicly on the company’s behalf, supporting the development of our real estate financial model, management agreements, and helping to structure our co-GP vehicle. He has worked on real estate development projects throughout the United States in cities such as New York City, Boston, Washington D.C., Miami, New Orleans, Chicago, Seattle, San Francisco, Los Angeles and San Diego. Furthermore, Sterling has worked on numerous international projects including countries such as the People’s Republic of China, Argentina, Brazil, England, Australia, and the Republic of Korea.
Sterling is a graduate of Washington University in St. Louis, where he majored in Mandarin with minors in both Finance and Political Science. He attended Phillips Exeter Academy for high school, returning to the United States after living in Hong Kong for six years.
A.J. Schechter
Associate
A.J. is an Industry Associate with expertise in sales, marketing, eCommerce and social media. At Seneca Communities he supports the business development efforts by executing marketing campaigns, managing communication channels and sourcing new opportunities. Before Seneca, he had a diverse range of experiences working in F&B, hospitality and the pharmaceutical industry, and now works actively in the worlds of B2B eCommerce and Affordable Housing.
A.J. earned a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Sciences and Certificate in Ethical Leadership from Texas A&M University in 2018.
